5 NFL Games Worth Watching In Week 3

5 NFL Games Worth Watching In Week 3
The National Football League offers up yet another full slate of games for your amusement and some contests are clearly better than others. We've cherrypicked the five best games of Week 3 for your convenience and scheduling sanity.

The Big Game

Atlanta at Dallas – Sunday, September 24th 1:00 PM ET

Consider this game your Dallas health watch. The 2-0 Cowboys enter Sunday’s action as a two point home underdog with no Romo or Bryant to rely on. That means the world will get a glimpse at how Brendon Weedan can do as the starting QB. Atlanta will look to feast on the ailing Cowboys and wins over NFC East prey like the Eagles and Giants show the Falcons are to be feared in these matchups. ATL are enjoying bounce back play from Matt Ryan and Julio Jones, although rookie rusher Tevin Coleman’s rib injury is cause for concern.

Four More Worth Watching

Oakland at Cleveland – Sunday, September 24th 1:00 PM ET

It’s not exactly the sexiest game on the schedule, but Oakland versus Cleveland generates a lot of intrigue. Both the Raiders and Browns have looked better than expected and a possible Derek Carr/Johnny Manziel QB showdown has some neat wrinkles to it. (Y’know, provided Josh McCown isn’t given back the pivot position in Cleveland.) The reputations attached to both teams should be a tip-off that a colossal mess could be in the cards, but there’s a potential fascinating football game at the ready here. By the way, Cleveland’s favoured by 4.5.

Philadelphia at New York – Sunday, September 24th 1:00 PM ET

The Eagles should probably be booted out of these previews until they turn things around, but Chip Kelly’s squad is such a conundrum that it’s hard to turn away. New acquisitions Sam Bradford and DeMarco Murray have not been performing up to par and a lousy offensive line isn’t providing much help. Philly will try to get their first win of 2015 against a 2-0 Jets team that is merciless when it comes to takeaways. Nabbing points from New York has proven a tough task with opponents averaging 8.5 points-per-game in the first two Jets outings.

Jacksonville at New England – Sunday, September 24th 1:00 PM ET

Cautious optimism reigns supreme in Jacksonville as the Jags following a 23-20 defeat of Miami. The difficulty level gets cranked up several notches as the Jaguars head to New England to face an intimdating Patriots squad. Tom Brady figured out a way last week to dismantle the much gushed over Buffalo Bills defense. If JAX are going to slay goliath, their Blake Bortles led offense will have to be up to snuff and pick apart a weak NE defense that’s generously given up 813 yards in just two games. New England’s favoured to win by two touchdowns.

Kansas City at Green Bay – Monday, September 25th 8:30 PM ET

Lambeau Field is the site of Week 3’s Monday Night Football showdown. The well-rested Chiefs will try to put their painful TNF loss to the Broncos aside to face what might be the best team in football today. Green Bay have looked great even while their medical office has been alarmingly busy. It’s unclear if star running back Eddie Lacy will be healthy enough to return for Monday’s clash and that may ring some alarm bells in Wisconsin. The Pack are considered a 6.5 point home favourite by oddsmakers.
