Best MLS Bets Of The Week
MLS Betting Lines & Odds Comparison

Houston Dynamo (+175) vs. New York City FC (+150)
NYCFC travel to struggling Houston Dynamo this weekend knowing they must win to keep the pressure on the teams around them. NYCFC are tied at the top of the Eastern Conference with New York Red Bulls and Toronto FC, while Philadelphia Union are only six points behind.
Houston are rock bottom of the Western Conference with a 5-2-7 home record, and are nine points adrift of a playoff place. Dynamo have won back-to-back games for the first time in the league this season, their last victory coming in a 3-1 home win against Portland Timbers where Mauro Manotas scored a hat trick.
NYCFC’s David Villa scored his 18th and 19th goals of the season as his team clinched a playoff spot in the MLS Cup by beating a hapless Chicago Fire 4-1 at home.
These sides have met only once previously, a 1-1 draw at NYCFC’s Yankee Stadium during their inaugural season.
I fancy NYCFC to bag the victory, with the Draw No Bet priced at -125, and a 2-1 win for NYCFC prices at +800. Bovada thinks a 1-1 draw is most likely at +475, but NYCFC should just nick this one.
Pick: NYCFC to win at +150
FC Dallas (-135) vs. LA Galaxy (+345)
FC Dallas are the only Western Conference team to have guaranteed themselves playoff action, but don’t expect them to take their foot off the gas as they entertain LA Galaxy at home this weekend.
Dallas were held to a 0-0 draw away at Real Salt Lake on Week 31 while Galaxy were well beaten 2-4 at home to Seattle Sounders who had only won twice on their travels this season.
Bookmakers make LA Galaxy a long +345 to win, partly because Galaxy are 3-4-8 on the road and Dallas are 10-1-4 on home soil, and I can’t find anything that makes me disagree with them.
The -135 on a Dallas win looks fair, as does the over 1.5 goals scored by Dallas at -160. I fancy Galaxy getting on the score sheet, which makes me look at a 2-1 win for Dallas, currently priced at +650 and the bet I’ll be making.
Pick: Dallas to win 2-1 at +650
Colorado Rapids (-155) vs. Portland Timbers (+425)
Colorado Rapids, still unbeaten at home in regular season in 14 games, host Portland Timbers who haven’t won away during regular season, which points to a home win, right? Of course it does.
Rapids have struggled for goals this season (32 scored in 29 games) but you would never have thought so in their last game, which ended in a 3-3 draw away at Vancouver Whitecaps. Portland, meanwhile, lost 3-1 away to Houston Dynamo and continued their miserable away form.
Colorado are -155 to win the game with a 1-0 scoreline priced at +525 and 2-0 at +600. Rapids have a tight defence at home so they are more than capable of keeping free-scoring Fanendo Adi and Diego Valeri, who have 28 goals between them, under lock and key.
Pick: Colorado to win 1-0 at +525
