How to Bet on McGregor Vs Diaz
Conor McGeregor, UFC’s featherweight champ always divides opinion. Love him or hate him, he is a great promoter and always manages to hype up his fights. Whenever such a huge event comes around everyone wants to have a flutter.
These events can often produce some of the best value, as sportsbooks usually price the match ups based on public perception rather than the actual likely outcome of an event.
This enabled shrewd punters to get fantastic odds on Nate Diaz the first time around, and although he has beat Conor once, we foresee the same value appearing again this time around.

McGregor Vs Diaz Fight Night Las Vegas
|Nate Diaz Tale of The Tape Conor McGregor|
The majority were shocked to see Diaz’ hand raised when the two squared off on March 5th earlier this year. Diaz stepped up to fight the then unbeaten (in the UFC) McGregor on 11 days notice and many didn’t even give him a punchers’ chance.
More astute fans who have been watching the sport from the early days were less shocked. Diaz, TUF season 5 winner, has always been one of the toughest fighters in the business. He took everything the champ had in round one and just kept coming.
Round 2 was different story as Diaz hurt McGregor early and from that point on the Conor couldn’t recover. Nate even delivered his famous Stockton Slap before dropping McGregor and swarming on top of him, eventually forcing the Irishman to tap after applying a rear naked choke and gaining the 12th submission victory of his career.
What can we expect from the rematch if it does eventually go ahead?
Frankly, more of the same. McGregor demanded that the fight be replicated exactly, so he can fully avenge his loss. This means that once again Ireland’s most loved son will be jumping up 2 weight classes to welterweight to fight Diaz at 170lbs.
This is huge in a sport like MMA. Conor is used to being the bigger and stronger man in the Octagon and his opponents at featherweight would fear his deadly left hand. Just look at how much he had to bulk up for the Diaz fight.
Although McGregor looks good with the extra bulk, it slows him down and clearly had an effect on his stamina.
Conor is renowned for having an awesome gas tank, but at certain points in their fist fight he looked a little tired and slower than previous bouts.
Yes, Diaz usually fights at 155lbs but he does have experience fighting at 170 in the past and has looked awesome in his recent victories over Michael Johnson and Gray Maynard. This time around Diaz will have a full training camp, which is absolutely huge. Anyone in the fight game will tell you what a difference this makes.
Nate also ate Conor’s best shots with ease, the same shots that helped Conor go on a 13-fight unbeaten streak entering the fight. He enjoyed six TKO/KO victories out of seven UFC opponents before Diaz, including the astonishing 13-second KO of Jose Aldo, who, at the time was 10-years undefeated.
Nate took these shots with no problem, something we have never seen before. This surely has a deep effect on Conor.
To have a chance of winning the fight, McGregor needs to mix it up a little and change his gameplan. Therein lies the problem as Conor is a very one-dimensional fighter at the elite level. He relies on his boxing and punching power, which Nate knows he can handle. Diaz is better in every other aspect of MMA and vastly superior in BJJ.
Based on this, we like Nate inside two rounds. We’re inclined to think he may go for the KO this time around rather than submission, but at the same time he is so slick on the ground we can certainly make a case for another submission. Watch how effortlessly he puts the rear naked choke on Conor at UFC 196.
