Online Sports Betting’s 2015-16 NBA Southeast Division Preview

Online Sports Betting’s 2015-16 NBA Southeast Division Preview
Are the Atlanta Hawks still the Southeast's most dangerous squad? Can the Heat bounce back into the playoff picture? How far can John Wall send Washington this year? We'll explore all of these questions with our Southeast Division preview.

Atlanta Hawks

Odds To Win The NBA Championship: 50/1

It’s not every day that you see the team with the Eastern Conference’s best record get saddled as a 50/1 shot to win the NBA title. That’s the position the Hawks find themselves in for 2015-16. The low expectations aren’t due to the exit of forward DeMarre Carroll either. The well-balanced club revealed themselves as underwhelming in the playoffs and were promptly swept by the Cavs. The Hawks have made a few roster tweaks (hello Tiago Splitter), but there’s nothing that suggests Atlanta will be anything beyond a regular season powerhouse.

Charlotte Hornets

Odds To Win The NBA Championship: 250/1

Are the Hornets on the way up after a 33-39 campaign last season? It depends on who you talk to. If you’re bullish on rookie center Frank Kaminsky and believe Kemba Walker can get the job done, Charlotte is in a good place. If you find their roster lean and continued lack of scoring punch troubling, you’ll be more than understanding of why 250/1 suits the state of the Hornets in 2015-16.

Miami Heat

Odds To Win The NBA Championship: 20/1

The Heat missed the playoffs last year and that has to hurt the once mighty basketball power. There’s reason to believe 2015-16 will treat the team far kinder and give Miami basketball fans something to root for beyond free agent courting next year. A blood clot in Chris Bosh’s lungs put him out for the year, but now he’s back in the lineup. Also added to the club: Duke star Justise Winslow. If Miami stays healthy and the talent beyond Dwyane Wade plays to its potential, the Heat could reemerge as force in the East.

Orlando Magic

Odds To Win The NBA Championship: 250/1

Is another cauldron of woe on the menu at the Magic Kingdom? Orlando’s been a total non-factor in the NBA for the past few years and springing back to relevency will prove to be a tough task in 2015-16. Scott Skiles takes over as coach and #5 draft pick Mario Hezonja joins the roster with free agent C.J. Watson coming aboard too. It’s enough to provide intrigue but the Magic will definitely be in rebuilding mode this year.

Washington Wizards

Odds To Win The NBA Championship: 50/1

The Wizards were bounced by the Hawks in last year’s playoffs and revenge will likely be on the mind of this Washington squad. John Wall continues to be the marquee attraction for this team with minimal roster moves aside from the addiiton of Alan Anderson and the subtraction of Paul Pierce changing things up. The Wizards look to be in for roughly the same quality of season as the experience in their last go-around. That said, a breakout year from a player like Otto Porter would definitely go a long way.
