Online Sports Betting’s 2015-16 NHL Pacific Division Preview

Online Sports Betting’s 2015-16 NHL Pacific Division Preview
A brand new season is on the horizon for the National Hockey League and we're offering up a look at what the Pacific Division has in store for 2015-16. Can the Los Angeles Kings rebound? Will the Ducks stay on top? Are the Flames for real? Here's our lightning quick look-in.

Anaheim Ducks

Odds To Win The Stanley Cup: 10/1

The Ducks scored the divison crown in 2014-15 before getting bounced in the Western Conference finals by the eventual champs from Chicago. The pressure’s on coach Brian Boudreau to get the team to get Corey Perry and Ryan Getzlaf back into the Stanley Cup Finals. Without much in the way of glitzy offseason additions, that could prove to be a tall order.

Arizona Coyotes

Odds To Win The Stanley Cup: 150/1

The Coyotes battled with the Sabres to be last year’s “free win” Bingo space and they only got a #3 overall pick to show for it. Erie Otters center Dylan Strome is nothing to sneeze at, but 2015-16 looks like another L assembly line for the Yotes.

Calgary Flames

Odds To Win The Stanley Cup: 33/1

The Flames emerged from nowhere (or wherever rebuilding supplies are located) to not only make it to the second round of the playoffs, but regain relevency while doing so. It’s hard to forecast what’s in store for Calgary for the new season. They still have young talents like Johnny Gaudreau and Sean Monahan leading the charge (with a healthy Mark Giordano and new arrival Dougie Hamilton) but the magic of the Flames is difficult to sell based on roster alone. Is another miracle in the cards?

Edmonton Oilers

Odds To Win The Stanley Cup: 33/1

It’s been said for ages now, but if Edmonton figures out their youth movement they could spring back into being a force in the NHL. After what feels like dozens of false starts, 2015 will start will the supreme optimism of having chosen one Connor McDavid, new coach Todd McLellan and GM transplant Peter Chiarelli onboard in the Alberta capital. Expectations are high this go-around, but can you blame Oilers fans for wanting something big?

Los Angeles Kings

Odds To Win The Stanley Cup: 10/1

The Kings took a nasty tumble in 2014-15 going from defending champs to missing the playoffs in the course of a single season. Was it a fluke? Possibly. The Kings still have tons of super skilled players (Doughty, Kopitar, Brown, Carter) on their roster and they’ve added Milan Lucic to boost their chances. Los Angeles were an underwhelming 18th in the league in goals scored, so they’ll need their offense to revive itself sooner rather than later.

San Jose Sharks

Odds To Win The Stanley Cup: 40/1

San Jose continue to be in a state of relative limbo with a number of familar faces (Joe Thornton, Patrick Marleau, GM Doug Wilson) sticking around with new coach Peter DeBoer expected to iron things out. The Sharks finished 8 points out of a postseason berth last year and it doesn’t look likely their return unless DeBoer can genereate surprising results. (His track record suggests a gloomy forecast on that front.)

Vancouver Canucks

Odds To Win The Stanley Cup: 50/1

The Canucks are returning from an unexpected playoff appearance and find themselves lower on the futures board than last year’s bottom feeder Edmonton. If Vancouver wants to repeat last year’s success, they’ll need their young guns (plus new acquisition Brandon Sutter) to make up for the loss of the veterans that have headed out of town.
