Online Sports Betting’s Weekly NHL Power Rankings (October 15 Edition)
The puck has dropped on a brand new National Hockey League season and that means our weekly NHL Power Rankings are ready for their debut. Every single Thursday we present a look at the five most fearsome teams on the ice today. Here's the best of the best (for now) in the NHL.

5. Detroit Red Wings

Odds To Win The Stanley Cup: 25/1

How’s the post-Babcock era going in Hockeytown? Not bad, actually. The Red Wings have started off the season at 3-0-0 with newly installed Jeff Blashill behind the bench complete with a 4-0 blanking of the Maple Leafs in their season opener. Holding opponents to 1.3 goals per game in their opening trio is always a good look and Wings captain Henrik Zetterberg’s racked up seven points in the early going. If Detroit keeps playing like this, a 25th consecutive postseason appearance is in the cards.

4. Vancouver Canucks

Odds To Win The Stanley Cup: 28/1

Remember how the bulk of pundits pegged the Canucks to take a step back and fall behind in 2015-16 following a semi-surprise playoff appearance? So far, Vancouver’s been in no mood to dip into also-ran status. The Canucks are perched as the points leader in the Pacific and stellar play from Ryan Miller (look at that sparkling 1.21 GAA) inspires a lot of hope. Fixing a power play that’s been clunky in the early going would amp up the excitement all the more.

3. Nashville Predators

Odds To Win The Stanley Cup: 18/1

Fear the Preds. Pekka Rinne’s been a beast between the pipes giving up a grand total of two goals over three games played and that blueline has to give opposing clubs nightmares. Shea Weber, Roman Josi and Seth Jones? Holy moly. Mind you, it’s best not get too worked up about the dominance from the early start. After all, it’s the start of the season and the Ws came versus bottomfeeders like Carolina, Edmonton and New Jersey. The difficulty level increases this week with clashes against the Isles, the Sens and the Bolts.

2. San Jose Sharks

Odds To Win The Stanley Cup: 22/1

Things are going swimmingly for the early portion of Peter DeBoer’s tenure in San Jose and things haven’t been shabby for new netminder Martin Jones either. The ex-King has posted back-to-back shutouts as the keeper of the crease blanking the Ducks and Caps this week. Jones has been remarkable, but he hasn’t been hurting for goal support either. Two of the club’s first three contests have featured the lamp being lit five times during the sixty minutes of on-ice action. Freshly minted captain Joe Pavelski has scored four points so far in October.

1. Montreal Canadiens

Odds To Win The Stanley Cup: 10/1

It’s way too early for Habs fans to start mapping out parade routes, but things have gotten off to a marvelous start in Montreal. The Canadiens have started October 4-0-0, hanging Ls on Toronto, Ottawa, Boston and Pittsburgh. Reigning Hart Memorial Trophy winner Carey Price has lived up to his usual level of play and Max Pacioretty has collected six points to start the season. A daunting trio of games awaits the Habs this week with the Rangers, Red Wings and Blues next on the menu.
