Here are a few NFL betting options to consider, with odds courtesy of Bet365.com.
Dallas Cowboys (-172) vs. New York Giants (+150)
It’s 11 wins and counting for the Dallas Cowboys, who are looking more and more like true Super Bowl contenders. The Cowboys will look for a 12th straight victory on Sunday, but it won’t come easy as they travel to New York to face the surging Giants at MetLife Stadium.
There’s a lot at stake in this NFC East clash with the first-place Cowboys entering Sunday night’s game as -172 favorites. The second-place Giants — winners of six of their last seven games — are intriguing +150 underdogs.
The Cowboys are averaging a fourth-best 391.7 yards of total offense — propelled by the play of rookie running back Ezekiel Elliott, who is in position to win the rushing crown in his debut season. Elliott has racked up 1,285 yards, which leads all running backs in the NFL.
Elliott is in for a tougher day on Sunday against New York’s fifth-best rush defense, which has been holding opponents to just 91.4 yards per game on the ground.
Dallas’ only loss of the year came in the season opener back in September, when the Giants escaped with a 20-19 victory.
These two clubs traditionally play high-scoring games and that will be the case on Sunday. Take Bet365’s over line of 47.5 with the Giants squeaking out another thrilling victory.
Pick: New York Giants (+150) and the Over
Seattle Seahawks (-172) vs. Green Bay Packers (+150)
It’s that time of the year when playing in Lambeau Field conditions become a little tougher for visiting NFL teams. The Packers are hoping they can take advantage of Sunday’s below-zero temperatures — with potential snowfall — when they host the NFC West-leading Seattle Seahawks.
Seattle is 4-1 over their last five games but much of the club’s success has come on home field. The Seahawks, who are -172 favorites, take a losing 2-3-1 record into Lambeau Field. The Packers — winners of back-to-back games — have clawed their way back into post-season contention in the NFC North. They’re enticing +150 underdogs.
Aaron Rodgers has regained the composure that’s made the Packers’ pivot an elite NFL quarterback. Rodgers has thrown for 300-plus yards and nine touchdown passes in three of Green Bay’s last four games.
The head-to-head history between these two clubs has tipped in Green Bay’s favor, as the Packers hold a 6-4 record against the Seahawks over that stretch.
Bet365 has set the over/under total points at 46, but don’t expect a high-scoring match in what is sure to be a cold and snowy day at Lambeau Field.
Pick: Green Bay Packers (+150) and the Under
Indianapolis Colts (-250) vs. Houston Texans (+210)
A three-way tie in the AFC South will be will be snapped on Sunday when Indianapolis Colts host the Houston Texans in a crucial divisional game at Lucas Oil Stadium.
The Colts, who have won three of their last four games to put them back in playoff contention, enter Sunday’s match as -250 favorites. The Texans have been terrible on the road, winning just one game away from NRG Stadium this season. The Texans — losers of three straight games — are +210 underdogs.
The Colts return to the field on a short week, having played on Monday night against the New York Jets. However QB Andrew Luck, despite suffering a concussion last month, hasn’t shown any signs of fatigue. Luck carried the Colts to two consecutive victories, completing 37 of 56 passes and throwing six touchdown passes over that stretch. He’ll run into some problems against the Texans’ fifth-ranked pass defense on Sunday. Houston’s defense on average is keeping teams to 208.4 passing yards per game and has six interceptions.
It’s the second time the two teams will lock horns as the Texans drew first blood with a victory in October. However the Colts own a 7-3 record against Houston over the last 10 meetings.
Betting the over/under? Bet365 has set the total points at 47. The Colts are seventh in total points this season and are primed for another big offensive day against the Texans.
Pick: Indianapolis Colts (-250) and the Over
