Oakland Goes for Seven Straight in Opener with San Francisco
Jason Hammel makes Oakland debut Wednesday night
Jason Hammel, acquired along with Jeff Samardzija last week, will make his debut for Oakland on Wednesday night. Hammel had an ERA just under three while with the Cubs this season and he will look to continue his strong season in a different uniform. Hammel likes pitching in San Francisco, where he is 0-1 with an ERA of 2.35 in five starts, but he has not pitched in San Francisco since 2011.
Giants hope Matt Cain figures things out soon
If the Giants want to make a run at the NL West title, or a playoff spot, they will need Matt Cain to return to form. Right now, he is 1-7 with an ERA of 4.27. Despite his struggles this year Cain has pitched better at home than on the road, so that should help him when he faces Oakland at AT&T Park tonight. Cain is 3-5 in his career against Oakland, but he has an impressive ERA of 2.11 in 10 starts.
Placing bets on baseball can be tricky, especially when you have a hot team facing a pitcher who has dominated them in the past. Despite all of this, we still like Oakland to win this game. We are going to place our bet at Sportsbook.ag as we drop 10 percent of our bankroll on Oakland and the -123 money line as they win a seventh straight game.
