Tampa Bay Working to Climb East Standings Against Vancouver

Lightning to celebrate Cup win at home tonight

Tampa Bay won the Stanley Cup in 2004, but they have their sights set on another league title. The Lightning are right in the middle of the playoff race in the Eastern Conference because of goalie Ben Bishop. Bishop has already set the franchise record for wins in a season with 31 and will look to improve upon that number tonight. Bishop is one of the league’s best goalies this season, coming into this game with five shutouts.

Canucks fighting through tough times right now

Vancouver has seen itself fall from contention in the West playoff race while suffering through a rough stretch of games. In their last 17 games played, the Canucks have a record of 4-12-1. They find themselves just three points out of the eighth and final playoff spot in the conference with the new alignment and system this year. Even though this is promising, there are at least five teams separated by just seven points, all competing for that final playoff spot.
