Toronto Surging Into Olympic Break with Vancouver in Town

For Toronto, why stop playing now?

Toronto does not want to see the Olympic break come at all with the way they have been surging. The Maple Leafs are 7-2-1 in their last 10 games played and have climbed into the fourth spot in the Atlantic Division, four points ahead of the Detroit Red Wings. They find themselves just one-point from the second spot in the division standings. Toronto is on fire right now, even if they play in a frigid climate, so why mess with what is working for them?

Olympic break coming at right time for Vancouver

The Canucks are not playing well at all right now. Having lost six straight games in regulation, the franchise has not lost seven straight in regulation since 1998-1999. During their rough stretch, the Canucks have been dominated on the scoreboard by a total of 23-10. Only one of the games during their losing streak was decided by one goal, a 4-3 loss to the Winnipeg Jets. Vancouver has an 11-game winning streak against Toronto, outscoring the Maple Leafs 49-21.

It is difficult to bet on this game because of the recent series history. With Vancouver holding an 11-game win streak in the series, they should be the favorites, but Toronto is so hot right now and the Canucks are ‘cold as ice,’ as Foreigner once put it. We will lay the line at -1.5 (+210) for Toronto at on Saturday night.
