Champions League Final Betting Tips
Real Madrid vs. Juventus betting lines analysis
Italy’s Juventus have the opportunity to win their first Champions League title since the 1995-96 season when they take on Spanish giants Real Madrid at the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff, Wales on June 3.
Pundits and soccer fans from around the world believe this is Juventus’ best shot of European glory for many a year and I tend to agree. In fact, I am of the belief that this Juventus team will be crowned champions, an outcome that Bovada prices at -105.
This Juventus team may be getting on in years but they are vastly experienced, able to handle the pressure of playing in such a match and, perhaps most vital, are extremely difficult to score against. In the group stages, Juventus only conceded two goals in six games and then once in the knockout stages despite playing a Barcelona team that is renowned for its world class forwards.
The team is not only solid in defense, they have attacking players who have the ability to turn a game on its head with a moment of sublime skill.
Juventus paid €90 million for Gonzalo Higuain and he has repaid them with 24 goals in 37 appearances this season, including five in 11 Champions League games. Higuain is +400 to score first and +140 to score at anytime and I believe that it could be his goal that separates the two teams in this final.
Real Madrid, the reigning Champions League champions, wrapped up the La Liga domestic title last week and will be full of confidence going into this final game of the season. Madrid struggled in the group stages, finishing second to Borussia Dortmund after winning three and drawing three of their six matches, scoring 16 goals and conceding 10. Despite their defensive frailties, they are -125 favorites to win this competition.
In the knockout stages, Real only kept one clean sheet in six games, showing that while they are an attacking force to be reckoned with, they do give away chances at the back, something Juventus rarely do.
Of course, Real Madrid have a certain Cristiano Ronaldo in their team, a player who has scored more individual goals in the Champions League than arch-rivals Atletico Madrid have scored as a team.
The Portuguese superstar has 10 Champions League goals this season, one less than Barcelona’s Lionel Messi and if he manages to bag a brace, he will be the tournament’s top goal scorer. Bovada price Ronaldo at +170 on being the Golden Boot winner.
Bookmakers think the most likely score is going to be 1-1 at +525 with a 1-0 win for either Juventus or Real coming in at +650. Backing a nil-nil draw will get you odds of +700 with the next favorite scoreline being a 2-1 Madrid win at +900 and a 2-1 Juventus win at +950.
Personally, I can see this final being a defensive masterclass by Juventus and them sneaking the match 1-0 at +650. This makes the Juventus to win by one goal at +300 a solid bet to make.
Pick: Juventus to win the Champions League at -105
