Ducks down, but not out entering Game 4

Ducks down, but not out entering Game 4
A hot streak at Bridgestone Arena has the Nashville Predators in good position to take a commanding lead in the Western Conference Final. However, don’t count out the Anaheim Ducks, who’ve displayed resiliency throughout the playoffs.

The Ducks will finally break Nashville’s home winning streak

Here are a few betting lines for Game 4 of the Western Conference Final, with odds courtesy of Bovada.

Nashville Predators (-160) vs. Anaheim Ducks (+135)

Preds Ducks

The Nashville Predators, who host the Anaheim Ducks on Thursday night at Bridgestone Arena, will focus on a sixth straight home playoff victory in this year’s playoffs.

The Predators, who hold a 2-1 lead in the Western Conference Final, have yet to lose a game on home ice and take a five-game winning streak into action on Thursday as -160 favorites. The Ducks were in position to steal a big victory in Nashville but fell short by giving up two third-period goals in Game 2. The Pacific Division champions — heading to the Music City as intriguing +135 underdogs — are hoping to reverse that outcome.

The Predators have been throwing everything — including themselves — at Ducks goaltender John Gibson, who has embraced the challenge. Nashville is averaging 39.67 shots per game in the series, while the Ducks are mustering 25.33 shots during the same span.

NHL odds

Nashville had two goals called back for goaltender interference. The Preds wants to rattle Gibson by crashing the crease but need to be careful against a Ducks team excelling on the power play. Anaheim has converted on 2-of-8 power play chances in this sereis, a conversion rate of 25 percent heading into a crucial Game 4 matchup on Thursday night.

Bovada has set the total projection line for Thursday’s contest at 5 — a tricky line considering the second game produced a total of eight goals, while the third tilt in this series resulted in a total of three tallies. So far in this series, there have been an over, under and push outcomes.

So what can we expect on Thursday? Ducks captain Ryan Getzlaf was held pointless for the second time in this series but expect Anaheim’s big line to come through and lift the club to a Game 4 win to tie the series at two games apiece.

Pick: Anaheim Ducks (+135) and the over (5)
