All square at two games apiece, the Western Conference Final has essentially become a best-of-three. The Anaheim Ducks will take a huge momentum swing into the Honda Center on Saturday night when they host the Nashville Predators in Game 5.
The Ducks let a late third period lead slip away in Game 4 but were able to come up with a huge overtime victory to get a split in Nashville. They head back home as a -120 favorite to take the lead in the series for the first time. The Predators, who saw their six-game winning streak at home come to an end, head to California as intriguing even underdogs.
Two games in the best-of-seven series have gone to overtime, so you can expect another nail-biter on Saturday night as the Ducks hope to take a series lead back to the Music City for Game 6.
Ducks forward Corey Perry took a lot of heat early in the playoffs for not pulling his weight offensively. The former 50-goal scorer has certainly silenced those critics as Perry has netted two markers in the last two games of the series.
The clubs have been evenly matched through four games as the Preds are averaging 2.90 goals for per game compared to the Ducks, who are potting 2.77. Even the shots have been split with the Predators recording 31.10 compared to the Ducks’ 30.22.
The Ducks have scored the most goals in the post-season, but they’ve also surrendered the most as well. Much of that is attributed to Anaheim’s average penalty kill percentage of 76.3 percent.
If you’re thinking about making an over/under wager, take into consideration only one game so far has exceeded the projected total goals line. Bovada has set the line at 5 once again for Saturday’s contest, but watch for another low-scoring affair with the Ducks going to Nashville up 3-2 in the series.
