Golden State vs Cleveland Regular Season Wins Odds

Golden State vs Cleveland Regular Season Wins Odds
The Golden State Warriors — already considered to be the greatest team in NBA history — will look to repeat their win total from last season. BetOnline oddsmakers have set the bar high for the defending champions. The question is can they answer the call? Let us break it down for you.

NBA Regular Season Wins Odds

The ongoing rivalry between the Golden State Warriors and Cleveland Cavaliers has reached new heights over the last three years. Both teams have clashed in three straight NBA Finals, with Golden State winning two encounters, including the 2017 title in dominating fashion.

Entering the 2017-18 campaign, the East and West giants are the frontrunners once again to win the NBA championship, which means a fourth straight meeting in the final may be in order.

The defending champion Warriors — coming off a 67-win season — are -160 favorites to capture the NBA title for a third time in four years. LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers are next in line at +500 favorites to win the title in 2018.

Cleveland Cavaliers
Over 56.5 wins -115
Under 56.5 wins -115
Golden State Warriors
Over 67.5 wins -115
Under 67.5 wins -115

Cleveland Cavaliers

The Cavaliers finished the 2016-17 campaign with a 51-31 record. However, there were growing concerns in the Cleveland lineup that have many basketball gurus wondering if the Cavs will be the Beasts of the East in the upcoming season. BetOnline upped Cleveland’s projected total wins with an over/under line of 52.5.

The East — aside from the Boston Celtics, Toronto Raptors and Washington Wizards — remained stagnant or got considerably worse during the off-season.

That may be good news for the Cavaliers, who are coming off a 51-31 season, finishing second in the conference behind the Boston Celtics.

Golden State Warriors

There weren’t many flaws in Golden State’s game during the club’s championship run in 2016-17 as the club topped the Western Conference with a 67-15 regular season record. But can the reigning champs surpass that mark in the upcoming season?

BetOnline has set Golden State’s total win projection at 67.5 for 2017-18. The over, which is the favorite, is paying -125, while going under the projected mark is offering enticing -105 odds.

While it may be tempting to take the under, don’t forget this was the same team that set a new NBA record for most wins in a single season with 73 just two years ago, passing the 95-96 Chicago Bulls in the process. With a dream team with an all-star trio of Stephen Curry, Kevin Durant and Klay Thompson, the Warriors are in position for another huge season.

Part of what’s made the Warriors so dominant has been their strong play on home court, where the club lost only five times in 2016-17.

Ten of Golden State’s 15 losses last year were against Western Conference opponents. It’s almost always a good bet to put your money on the Warriors on many nights, but consider doubling down when the club takes on teams from the Eastern Conference.

It never hurts to be one of the best three-point shooting teams in the NBA every season as well. Golden State’s 115.9 points per game average ranked No. 1 in the league, partially because the club finished with a .383 three-point shooting percentage in 2016-17.

BetOnline NBA Future lines and Props

Everything would have to align perfectly for the Warriors and Cavaliers to meet in the NBA Final for a fourth straight year — but it’s possible.

BetOnline is offering intriguing +140 odds that the Warriors and Cavs will clash in the 2018 championship. The sportsbook also has -160 odds that it will be any other team aside from Golden State and Cleveland battling for NBA supremacy.

If you’re looking for a few other enticing NBA future wagers, BetOnline also has you covered. Oddsmakers have pegged the Memphis Grizzlies as +100 underdogs to make the playoffs.

The Grizzlies finished with a 43-39 record last season, which was good for seventh in the Western Conference. The Portland Trail Blazers were another team to sneak into the playoff picture in 2016. The club is also +100 underdogs to make the post-season — another bet worth taking a chance on heading into the 2017-18 campaign.
