Sergio Aguero to Score for Manchester City vs. Liverpool
It has been a season of highs and lows for Manchester City’s Sergio Aguero. The Argentinian went six games without scoring after scoring 11 goals in his first six games. Then, in December he was sent off for a horror tackle as City lost 3-1 at home to Chelsea.
More recently, Ageuro has rediscovered his scoring touch and has scored six goals in five games for City in all competitions.
Aguero has 12 league goals from 16 games this season which is enough for joint eighth place in the race for the Golden Boot. With Zlatan Ibrahimovic suspended and Harry Kane facing a spell on the sidelines with injury, Aguero has the perfect opportunity to climb up the scoring charts.
Man City play Liverpool this weekend in the pick of the weekend. While it will be a stern test for City, Liverpool’s defense is suspect, particularly on the road where they have only kept three clean sheets in 14 fixtures.
Aguero has scored three times in 11 games against Liverpool, which isn’t the greatest record, but The Reds’ defense is probably the worst it has been for some time and they do not have what it takes to prevent Aguero from running the show.
Bovada have Aguero priced at +350 to score first and -105 to put the ball in the Liverpool net before full time. Both are good bets.
Dele Alli to Score for Tottenham Hotspur vs. Southampton
Despite plying his trade in midfield, Dele Alli is Tottenham Hotspur’s second top scorer in the Premier League this season, scoreing 13 goals in 24 games. Only Harry Kane, with 19 league goals, has score more.
Alli is already guaranteed to have his best season, in terms of goals, of his career and there is every chance he could get close to 20 goals by the time the curtain comes down on the 2016/17 season. With Kane out injured, possibly until the end of the season, Alli will have more attacking freedom and will be expected to support either Son Heung-Min or Vincent Janssen.
Janssen is superb at holding up play and involving attacking midfielders. If Spurs deploy Alli in the traditional number 10 role, the England star is likely to find himself in plenty of potential goal scoring positions.
Odds of an Alli goal during the 90 minutes are currently around the +125 mark with +400 available on him opening the scoring. I prefer the latter.More articles...
