Western Conference Final Picks

Here are some betting options to consider, with odds courtesy of Bovada.
The Nashville Predators have gone from wild-card underdogs to legitimate Stanley Cup contenders in no time. The well-rested Predators will travel to Anaheim for Game 1 of the Western Conference Finals on Friday night, marking the first time the club has ever reached the final four.
The Preds head into the series as -125 favorites to defeat the Ducks, who were the Pacific Division champions.
Possibly the biggest surprise from the Preds has been the club’s ability to score goals. Leading the way has been blue-liner Ryan Ellis, who has nine points to sit first in team scoring. Ellis has also netted a pair of game-winning goals for the Predators, who defeated the Blackhawks and Blues to get to this point.
Don’t count out the Ducks — +105 underdogs to win the Western Conference Final. Ryan Getzlaf, in particular, is playing like a man possessed.
The Ducks’ captain sits third in NHL playoff scoring with 15 points.
Bovada has already set several intriguing prop bets for the series, including an enticing over/under wager on Getzlaf. The popular online sportsbook has set the projected point total at 6 with an over/under line of -115 attached to it.
Bovada has set a projected point total of 4.5 for Anaheim power forward Corey Perry, which will pay -115 if he goes over that mark in the series.
The Western Conference Final is destined to go the distance, which is why bettors should jump all over Bovada’s +475 odds either team will win in seven games. In addition, take Bovada’s -205 over/under line the series will surpass the projected game total of 5.5.
If you believe this will be a quick series, a clean sweep by the Predators pays +900, while four straight victories by the Ducks is offering +1200 odds. Those are long shots to say the least.
The head-to-head meeting between these Western Conference rivals has been split down the middle over the last 10 contests, with each club winning five games apiece.
Expect a similar gruelling series again, with the Ducks returning to the Stanley Cup for the first time in 10 years.
