Here’s a look at some NHL betting lines for Sunday, with odds courtesy of Bovada.
Four games into the Eastern Conference Final and it’s all notched at two games apiece as the defending champion Pittsburgh Penguins can take its first lead of this series on Sunday when they host the Ottawa Senators at PPG Paints Arena.
The Penguins go back home with momentum after winning Game 4 in Ottawa. The Pens enter action on Sunday as -200 favorites at PPG Paints Arena, where the club holds an average 4-3 record in the post-season. The Senators have proved they can win in Pittsburgh and will try to repeat the outcome from Game 1 as +170 underdogs on Sunday afternoon.
Pittsburgh needed more from Sidney Crosby, who was quiet in the first three games of the series. The Penguins captain had a goal and an assists and looks as if he’s regained his scoring touch after suffering a concussion in Round 2 against the Capitals.
Meanwhile, the Senators have struggled mightily on the power play. Ottawa is 0-for-26 on the man advantage in its last nine playoff contests. Against a depleted Penguins blue-line, the Sens must find a way to score when up a man. If the trend continues, this best-of-three will be over quicker than expected. In comparison, the Pens have netted two power-play goals in their last six chances.
Although the series is tied, the Penguins are slowly separating themselves from their opponents. Pittsburgh has outscored Ottawa on average 3.36 to 2.60 and outshot the Senators 32.60 per game to 30.13.
The total goals projection for Sunday has been set at 5, however only one game in the last three has produced an over result. Expect Game 5 to open up with the Penguins taking the victory and grabbing its first lead of this series.
Pick: Pittsburgh Penguins (-200) and the over (5)
