Penguins will return to Stanley Cup Final

Penguins will return to Stanley Cup Final
The Ottawa Senators are staggering and the Pittsburgh Penguins can deliver the knockout punch when the two clubs meet up in Game 6 of the Eastern Conference Final. A victory would send the Penguins to their second consecutive Stanley Cup Final.

Back the Pens to put an end to Sens’ hopes

Here are a few Game 6 betting options to consider, with odds courtesy of Bovada.

Pittsburgh Penguins (-150) vs. Ottawa Senators (+130)

Pens Sens

The defending champion Pittsburgh Penguins are one win away from returning to the Stanley Cup Final. First, the Pens must get through a desperate Ottawa Senators club looking to stave off elimination on Tuesday night at the Canadian Tire Centre.

The Penguins — coming off a 7-0 rout over the Senators in Game 5 — enter action on Tuesday night as the -150 road favorites. Pittsburgh holds a 5-3 record away from PPG Paints Arena in these playoffs. The Senators are looking to fight another day as intriguing +130 underdogs on home ice, who also hold a record of 5-3 at the Canadian Tire Centre.

Sidney Crosby takes a three-game goal-scoring streak into action in Game 6 a the Penguins captain has five points in the team’s last three contests after opening the series without a point in the first two. Crosby has been a machine in the faceoff circle, winning 18 of his last 25 draws.

The Senators will have to shake out of their power-play slump if they stand any chance of coming out on top. The club is 0-for-29 on the man advantage and has not netted a power-play goal since Game 1 of the second round against the New York Rangers.

The Penguins may have a depleted lineup but it seems like Matt Murray, who regained the No. 1 job in Pittsburgh’s net, has found the form that helped him win a Stanley Cup in 2016. Murray turned aside 25 shots in the last game to shut out the Senators in just his second start of the post-season.

The totals goals projection for Tuesday’s matchup has been set at 5, but don’t expect another blowout or high-scoring game. The Senators will try to get back to what they do best: play defense.

While Ottawa will feed off the energy from the crowd in the early stages of the game, it’ll be hard to stop the Penguins, who look to become the first team in 20 years to win back-to-back championships.

Pick: Pittsburgh Penguins (-150) and the under (5)
