Senators a win away from clinching spot in Eastern Conference Final

Senators a win away from clinching spot in Eastern Conference Final
The Ottawa Senators can secure a spot in the Eastern Conference final for the first time in 10 years when they travel to New York City on Tuesday night to face the Rangers in Game 6.

Take the Sens to finish the Rangers

Here are a few NHL betting lines to consider, with odds courtesy of Bovada.

New York Rangers (-170) vs. Ottawa Senators (+150)

With a spot in the Eastern Conference Final within striking distance, the Ottawa Senators can finish off the New York Rangers in their second-round series on Tuesday night at Madison Square Garden.

On the brink of elimination, the Rangers head into the must-win Game 6 as -170 favorites on home ice, where the club has excelled in these playoffs with a 4-1 record. The Senators head to the Big Apple as intriguing +150 underdogs as the club look to finish off the Rangers and advance to its first conference final since 2007.

Playing with a fractured foot, Senators’ captain Erik Karlsson will once again be the player to watch on Tuesday night. Karlsson picked up three assists in Ottawa’s overtime victory in Game 5 and will be looking to lead his club to repeat the same accomplishment on Tuesday.

Sens forward Mark Stone, who has struggled to find offense in this series, netted a big goal in Game 5. Can he continue that success on Tuesday night?

Bovada is offering bettors an intriguing +225 line Stone will score a goal for the Senators in Game 6. Another player to keep a close eye on is Clarke MacArthur, who was quiet in this series up until the last game when the veteran picked up a pair of big assists. Also, if you recall in the first round, MacArthur netted the series-winning goal against the Bruins — also in Game 6.

Bovada is offering +300 odds MacArthur nets a goal on Tuesday night at Madison Square Garden.

If there’s one thing we know about these resilient Rangers is it’s that they never roll over, even when faced with elimination.

The opening goal could mean so much in this contest, but which team will score first? If it’s the Rangers, it’s crucial they keep the lead as the club has struggled to remain in front throughout the series.

An intriguing prop bet to consider putting your money on is taking the Sens to open the scoring, which pays +120.

Two of the last three games have produced under results and you can expect the same on Tuesday night. With a projected goal total of 5 set for Game 6, bet on a tight-checking, low scoring affair with the Senators prevailing and moving on to the Eastern Conference final.

Pick: Ottawa Senators (+150) and the under (5)
